In short

A bounty pays a reward for a specific task, with funds locked in a smart contract and paid to the winner. Includes six bounty templates and the basic steps to create one.

What is a Bounty?

A bounty is a reward offered to individuals or teams for completing a specific task or project. Bounties are commonly used in open-source communities and software development to incentivize contributions and improvements.

Why Onchain Bounties?

advantages:

  1. Transparency: All transactions and activities related to the bounty are recorded on the blockchain, providing a transparent and immutable history. This ensures that all participants can trust the process and verify outcomes.
  2. Security: Smart contracts automate the distribution of rewards once the conditions are met, reducing the risk of fraud and ensuring that contributors receive their compensation promptly.
  3. Decentralization: Onchain bounties remove the need for intermediaries, allowing for direct interaction between project owners and contributors. This enhances the efficiency and reduces costs associated with traditional bounty programs.

Bounty Templates

These templates provide a framework for users to define the scope, requirements, and rewards of their bounties, helping them attract suitable contributors.

Once authenticated, you can create a bounty by following these simple steps:

  1. Add a Title and Description:
    • Give your bounty a clear and descriptive title.
    • Provide detailed information about the task or project you want contributors to complete. The more specific you are, the better your chances of attracting suitable contributors.

    • Decide the total amount of cryptocurrency or tokens you wish to offer as a reward. This amount will be locked in a smart contract to ensure security and trust.
  3. Select an End Date:
    • Determine the deadline for submissions. The bounty will be open for contributions until this date.
  4. Select a Winner:
    • Before the end date, review submissions and select a winner. The smart contract will automatically send the funds to the winning contributor, ensuring a seamless and transparent reward distribution.

Step 3: Notifications

To stay informed about your bounty's progress:

  • Enter Your Email:
    • Provide your email address to receive notifications when your submission is posted onchain and when a winner is selected.

Step 4: Engage with Contributors

Interact with potential contributors, answer questions, and provide feedback to ensure your bounty is successful and completed to your satisfaction.
