Nova Harbor
In short
Harbor welcomes every new member with your template or an AI-personal message, link buttons and raid protection. Community PRO adds first-message welcomes, DM follow-ups, auto-roles, goodbyes and milestones.
Nova Harbor welcomes every new member of your Discord server or Telegram group automatically — with your own message or an AI-personal one, link buttons, and (on Community PRO) a full onboarding flow: first-message welcomes, DM series, auto-roles, role buttons, goodbyes, optional ban-hammer messages and milestone celebrations.
What a welcome looks like
You write the template; Nova fills it in for each newcomer:
👋 Welcome to {community}, {user}! Start in #introductions and grab your roles below — you're member #{member_count}.
| Placeholder | Becomes |
|---|---|
{user} | A mention of the new member (a ping on Discord, a tappable name on Telegram) |
{name} | Their name, without a ping |
{community} | Your server / group name |
{member_count} | Current member count |
{date} | Today's date |
If your template never names the member, Nova adds the mention in front. On Discord the welcome can be a rich card (their avatar, your accent color, "Member #1,234"); on Telegram it's a formatted message (**bold**, __italic__, [links](https://…)). Link buttons (rules, website, start-here) sit underneath.
Opportunities button. Turn on "Find opportunities for me" and the welcome gets a button that opens the member's own Nova Scout setup: bounties, grants and hackathons matching their skills, sent to their DMs. If your community runs its own bot, the button sends them to the main Nova bot.
AI-personal welcomes. Turn them on and Nova rewrites your template into a fresh, warm welcome for each newcomer while keeping its key info. When the daily AI allowance or your plan's AI budget runs out, Nova simply posts your template — nobody is ever left un-welcomed.
Built for busy rooms
| Situation | What Harbor does |
|---|---|
| Several people join within a few seconds | One combined welcome ("Welcome Ann, Bo and Cy!") — the window is adjustable |
| A join raid (dozens of accounts per minute) | Welcomes pause for 10 minutes; no roles or DMs go to raid accounts |
| Someone leaves and rejoins | Not re-welcomed within the cooldown you pick (default 30 days) |
| A channel full of old welcomes | Auto-delete after N minutes, or keep only the latest |
| Telegram "X joined / X left" clutter | Optionally deleted automatically |
| Discord Rules Screening | The welcome waits until the member accepts your rules |

First-message mode (PRO) waits until a newcomer first speaks and replies to that message — ideal for large groups where most joiners never talk.
Set it up
- As an admin, in the channel (Discord) or topic (Telegram forum) where welcomes should appear, say:
"@Nova turn on welcomes"
- Customize by talking to Nova — e.g. "@Nova set the welcome message to: Welcome {user}! Read #rules first 🚀" — or from the Nova Harbor card in the Community Settings dashboard, which shows a live preview as you type.
- Check it: "@Nova test the welcome" posts a labelled test that deletes itself after ~2 minutes and lists anything that's misconfigured (missing permissions, a role above Nova's, etc.).
- See how it's going: "@Nova how many people joined this month?"
